Construction Jobs in San Antonio Decline

As building activity nationwide continues to decrease, construction jobs in San Antonio continue to be eliminated.

According to, construction employment in the San Antonio metropolitan statistical area (MSA) declined by 4,900 jobs, or 10 percent, between January 2010 and January 2009.

A new report released Thursday by Associated General Contractors of America showed that 313 out of 337 metropolitan markets lost construction jobs over the 12-month period. The association analyzed federal employment figures to compile the report.
