AT&T hiring for technician jobs in San Antonio

AT&T has announced that it is hiring for technician jobs in San Antonio.

The wireless giant has partnered with Texas Veterans Commission to recruit veterans to fill over 60 jobs.

According to the telecommunications company, the openings are for AT&T’s U-verse integrated digital TV, high-speed Internet and voice service. AT&T is hiring around the state, including for 52 positions in San Antonio.

AT&T is also hiring in Kentucky. Officials announced Monday that they are hiring 50 new employees for their East Park call center located in Grayson.

According to the IronTribune, the East Park call center employees more than 500 people. There were 22 new employees that began work on Monday. AT&T has hired 104 new employees this year, which does not include the 50 new positions that are now available.

San Antonio unemployment rate decreases

The San Antonio unemployment rate has decreased, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. In fact, over the year, 27 states and the district experienced statistically significant increases in employment. The largest increase occurred in Texas (+245,700), followed by California (+181,000) and New York (+155,300). Wisconsin was the only state to show a statistically significant decrease (-23,900).

In March 2012, four states and the district recorded statistically significant over-the-month changes in employment, all of which were increases. The largest statistically significant job gains occurred in New York (+19,100), Arizona (+13,500), and Massachusetts (+8,700).

Alabama and Michigan registered the largest jobless rate decreases from March 2011 (-2.0 percentage points each). Sixteen additional states reported smaller but also statistically significant declines over the year. The remaining 32 states and the District of Columbia recorded unemployment rates that were not appreciably different from those of a year earlier.

Overall, regional and state unemployment rates were little changed in March. Thirty states recorded unemployment rate decreases, 8 states posted rate increases, and 12 states and the District of Columbia had no change.

Company to help recruit for healthcare jobs in San Antonio

Emergency Service Partners, L.P. (ESP) said recently it has formed an agreement with Christus Santa Rosa to staff healthcare jobs in San Antonio and provide medical management for two new free-standing emergency medical facilities set to open later this year.

One will be located in northwest San Antonio, and the other will be built in nearby New Braunfels, expanding access emergency medical care in both cities.
